ABOUT DARCY HENKEL
Darcy grew up in Alberta and fostered her love of horses from an early age. She spent her summers trail riding into the mountains with packhorses and playing horse games on the weekends. After college, Darcy joined the Vancouver Police Department and spent 27 years there, including 10 years as a mounted officer. She patrolled urban areas, rode in parades, and attended protests, demonstrations, and riots. During her last 5 years with the Mounted Unit, Darcy became the trainer for both riders and horses. After retiring in 2017, Darcy continues her dedication to horses through developing programs, clinics, and individual sessions for riders wanting to progress further with their horses.
