Membership Terms and Conditions

  • The membership year runs November 1 to October 31 annually. New memberships are prorated from the date of enrollment/payment based on those dates. Initiation fees are not prorated at any time.

  • All new and returning memberships must be approved by the Board of Directors.

  • For insurance purposes and for your own protection, it is mandatory that everyone riding at Southlands Riding Club have a current membership with Horse Council of BC (hcbc.ca)

  • By becoming a member you agree to abide by and uphold all the Rules and Bylaws of Southlands Riding Club

  • No matter the situation, membership fees and initiation fees are non-refundable

  • A signed waiver of liability is a condition of membership

  • After the first year, membership downgrades are permitted once per year and a processing fee of $50 plus GST will be charged for this service. Cancellations and downgrades are not permitted the first year.

  • 4-weeks notice is required for any membership downgrade or cancellation

  • Students must provide proof of full-time enrolment (equivalent to three or more courses in a term) in a post-secondary educational institution

  • Volunteer Program in effect for all riding members (does not include Introductory or Social memberships). $250 annual fee; credit will be given at a rate of $25/hr for any approved volunteer hours worked.
